Blacks that hold detail
Dead black stays under 8% of the frame, so shadows still read on a cheap monitor instead of turning into a hole. The drive-in came out at 41% pure black and went back until it didn't.
One light source
One source per image and one warm accent against the cold. No clipped highlights. A sphere lit evenly reads as a flat disc — the moon went back until it fell to half brightness at the limb.
